The D810 features Nikon’s premier 36.3MP FX-Format CMOS Sensor, which has been engineered without an Optical Low Pass Filter. This deliberate omission enhances the sensor’s capacity to deliver images with unparalleled sharpness and intricate detail. It also enhances the sensor’s performance with a speedy channel readout, expansive dynamic range, rich color tones, and amplified imaging performance even in low-light conditions.
The D810 employs the EXPEED 4 image processor, offering a performance boost of 30% compared to its predecessor, the EXPEED 3. This upgrade results in lower noise levels across the entire ISO spectrum. Furthermore, it enables support for full HD video recording at 60 fps. Thanks to the processor’s improved efficiency, the camera can capture up to 1200 still images or record 40 minutes of video on a single battery charge.
With the optional WT-5A Wireless Transmitter and UT-1 Communications Unit, the D810 provides Wi-Fi capabilities. These options allow for the wireless transfer of images to a computer or FTP server. Furthermore, they enable remote control of the camera using Nikon’s Camera Control Pro 2 software. The WT-5 connects to the UT-1 device, which in turn is mounted to the camera’s accessory hot shoe.
